From His Bestie to His Girl

Here’s something I wish to tell you.
Well, I really don’t know how to start…

         “ To the girl who’s stolen my bestie’s heart,
            You’re now his life’s most beautiful part.

            You’re the beauty in his words,
            when he speaks of you.
            In them, I’ve heard his feelings for you;
            and trust me dear, they’re true.

            With you he wishes to live his life.
            He treasures you deep inside.
            Darling, I want you to be his guide,
            so promise me you’ll always be by his side.

            I can vouch for him, he’s a keeper.
            He would never cheat; he would never lie;
            nor would he ever give you a reason to cry.
            He’s so much in love with you, Oh My!

            You’ll be having a lot coming your way:
            a moment to cherish, a hug, a kiss!
            I’ve been in love and I can tell you this;
            what you feel right now is pure bliss.

            I’m really happy you’ve found true love.
            For you two sweethearts, here’s a prayer:
            'May you always be together & happy forever;
            and with every passing day, may your love grow stronger.’ "

Bits & Pieces From My Diary

Hold my hand and fly with me;
there's a beautiful world awaiting.
With u beside, I wish to see
every joy our life would bring.
Together, lets move ahead
towards a new beginning.

--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×

I love you still
and I forever will,
with all my heart,
with all my soul;
just as much as I did before;
if not now, a little more.

--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×--×

I miss you much more than you know
I miss you more than I show

I love you much more than you know
I love you more than I show

I need you much more than you know
I need you more often than I show

I loved him enough to care for him.
I loved him enough to believe in him.
I loved him enough to fight for him.
I loved him enough to stand up for him.

I loved him enough to be by his side,
through joy and grief, thick and thin.
But I just couldnt love him enough to stay strong with him....
Guess I loved him just enough to let go of him.

Catching a Flight To / Within / From the UAE

As the new year is at our doorstep, I feel I'm ready to start working on my resolutions right away.
#1) improve language: read those books on the shelf & write more often

So, on the first hour of the last day of this year, I'm starting to work on my writing skills; and what better way than a blog post. So here goes my current thoughts typed out.

Catching a Flight To / Within / From the UAE

UAE is fast developing - especially Dubai. More buildings, better infrastructure, more investment, more oportunities for work, and more expatriates recruited for employment.

Meanwhile, the cost of living for the working class in the UAE is going up by the day. People are sending their families back to their homelands and living in shared accomodation.

Spending working hours in Dubai in the day gets you money. But the same city would loot you if you choose to spend the night there. Rents go up in Dubai, so people choose to sleep in Sharjah. More people, more traffic. You might sometimes feel like catching a flight from Sharjah to Dubai, just to skip the jammed roads.

China maybe having the highest population in the world, but when it comes to the GCC, Indians form the largest group of expats. Speaking of the UAE in particular, Indians outnumber Emiratis by a great margin - 139.8% to be precise. Exactly why the economic depression hit India harder than Dubai.

But the advantage of being the majority comes while speaking of air travel. There are about a hundred flights daily, connecting UAE to India. And thanks to the competition, plenty of budget airlines are coming up offering the cheapest possible airfare.

Now putting all this together, do we see in the near future, Indians catching a flight to dubai for work everyday and then flying back home in the evening? How convenient!

P.S. just finished writing an article about the growth of UAE to what is is now; or rather expressing how much I hate that place! That article came with a word limit, so I couldn't fit all this there.

Car Diaries - The Cars Of My Life

#1 Manaf's big red car
Manaf, was my first friend - I guess. He was our neighbour's son, when I was 0 - 3 years old. And he had this big red toy car that you could actually sit in and drive. I used to get in it, and push him off and drive it. I loved that car. And perhaps that's the only memory I have of those days. Manaf was such a sweetheart. He always shared his car. Never fought with me. But im the devil!

#2 Hot Wheels

2 borthers and their car collections - great inspiration. I had a doll house when I was small. But I loved the cars parked outside it, more than the dolls inside. Had my own collection of 6 really cool looking Hot Wheels. Even had a launcher and 2 big RC car racing sets - with the entire track  and all. Then as I grew, I had other car models, to scale, where you could open the doors and bonnet. Also had an Elf 1 RC car - silver. I still have some of them. Next on list: Bumblebee (Chevrolet Camaro). Age no bar, to have a cool toy car.

#3 Mitsubishi Lancer GLX (1990 - manual)

Our car during my childhood. Thats the most comfy car we've owned. Maroon colour - I like it. It had a pull out arm rest and the best part - you could fold the back seat from inside and reach out to the boot. So we could smuggle in and start munching on the biscuits before we reached home. It's posed for a lot of my childhood pics. Never had that kind of an attachment towards any car after that. Wish we never sold it.

#4 Lexus ES350 (2009)

I first saw it at the round about, on my way to school, and it was love at first sight. What a classy car. Couldn't take my eyes off it. Executive look, stylish body - I was so sure that's one car I wanted to have. In 2013 they launched a new model, which sucks. So i'm still looking out for a second hand 2009 model ES 350. I could settle for an RX350 too - maybe.

#5 Peugeot 206cc (2008)

My so-called first car; my baby (and Simon's too). I wanted a beetle for my first car - Herbie love! But this was much more - a black, convertible coupe. Small, efficient, cute, stylish and of course - black. Dad's gift for my 21st b'day. 21, legal, without a driver's license. Dad was sure I would get it in my first attempt. Which I didn't. Mom still tells dad that it was as if he had bought me a toy that I liked. I liked it; I said I wanted it; and I had it - oh yeah, I'm the princess! Loved showing off the convertible everytime my bro came to pick me from uni. Alas! They sold it off before I even got a chance to get behind the wheel.

#6 Mercedes-Benz SLK250 (2013)
Again, love at first sight! Not just with the car, but also with the lady in the car. Malini.... my crush.... I'm not interested in women, but she's a special case. At first I didn't even notice it was a lady driving. Dont' know if that car made her look more sexy or if she complimented the car. But that was classy - chic! Missed my peugeot even more.

#7 Nissan Sunny (2013)

Finally, my own car. This time I had to wait for about 6 months after I got my license. And another 8 months to get home license. My first car on road. Couple of scratches, a slight dent at the back, crazy driving experiments, late night sneaking out - a lot of secrets between me and her. This one has a pull out arm rest too. I love my car! :)

#8 Maserati GranTurismo Sport (2008 with custom changes)

Just saw it for about 5 mins, parked in front of me. As if I was destined to see it. What a car! What a design! It looked more like a sculpture than a car. As if it was moulded as a single piece from a single sheet of metal. That too it looked purple in night light. Pure beauty and nothing else. What broke my heart? - a girl, who seems to be younger than me, was driving it. I WANT THAT! Yup, it was so sexy, that it got me to cheat on my Sunny and also stop fantasizing about that ES350. :P

#9 Skoda Laura (2015)

Stud's new car. He got bored of his monotonous life of work, kickboxing, swimming, long drives and random travelling. So to add some life to his already lively living, he bought a new car with his friends. Then he went on to upgrade it for better performance - got the tires changed and stuff. "The car flies", he says. Ya I know, my otherhalf is as awesome and crazy as I am!! Nice car by the way. Its black too :)

#10 Audi R8

The one car, I might even agree to marry a guy for. So ya, you want me to say yes? Throw away that solitaire ring and try getting on your knees with the car keys! ;) *psst.... dont give my mom that idea*

Thanks buddy!

My Understanding of Love - Inspired by Stories of Lord Krishna

Mirabai: She loved Lord Krishna from a very young age and believed she was married to him. Krishna was her first love and her heart was forever his. She didnt care about her elite family or royalty or her husband's pride. She lived with her husband but didnt love him. Her love for Lord Krishna was selfless. He wasn't with her. He never spoke to her or confessed his love for her. She had seen nothing more than an idol of him, but it was all in the heart. She expected nothing in return; not even love. And when she had to chose between the two, she followed her heart. She spent all day, all night loving Lord Krishna. Locked herself up away from the rest of the world; staring at his idol and writing poetry confessing her love for him.

Radha: Lord Krishna had 16,000 wives of which i dont know the name of even one. But i know Radha. She wasn't one among them. In fact, she was married to another man. I dont know his name either coz thats not significant. She was married to him but her heart belonged to Krishna. They were bonded to each other beyond any physical or normally (following norms) accepted relations. It was all in the heart. They were in love.

So love is something that is felt for one special person. You know for yourself when you're in love though the rest of the world may not notice. Wedding need not give you the magical feeling of being in love. Taking care of a man's needs all day and sleeping with him at night is not love. Love is to look into a man's eyes with depth and seeing those eyes reciprocate feelings for you. Following social norms, getting married, etc are all from the head. Matters of the heart are just a little different. A lady can only love one man in her life, truely with all her heart. Everything else is from the head. For a woman, the person who has her heart is her love. He is to whom she is bonded, no matter what the world may assume or expect of her.

I Never Knew...

I never knew I could love another man,
Until I met him;
I never knew I could feel safe in the arms of a man,
Until he hugged me;
I never knew a man would care so much for me,
Until he kissed me;
I never knew I would have respect for a man,
Until I saw what he really was;
I never knew I would let another man hurt me,
Until he left me;
I never knew I had so much patience in me,
Until he decided never to come back...

And I never knew in spite of all this, I would still be thanking that man for all he's given to me!

P.S. I have forever loved him; still do and always will ♡
